
Payroll Specialist

Position Purpose
Under minimal supervision, the Payroll Specialist is a key member of the HR and HR Operations team. This role is responsible for a range of payroll related activities and supports HRIS SuccessFactors Payroll, collaborating with employees, Human Resources and Accounting.
Responsibilities
Research timekeeping exception items and take proper corrective action
Calculate and process payroll and deductions
Process DTC Incentives, Hospitality Incentives, health insurance premiums and retirement contributions
Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management
Assist Accounting with payroll general ledger reconciliation
Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
Respond to employee inquiries and payroll questions
Train new hires on timekeeping and payroll practices
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent years of experience
2+ years of experience in payroll or a similar role
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong understanding of payroll principles, general ledger reconciliation, regulations, and best practices
Proficiency in payroll software and Excel
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
Knowledge of benefits administration is a plus
Excellent organizational and project management skills; self‑motivated and able to prioritize tasks to meet critical deadlines
Effective written, verbal, and presentation communication at all levels of the organization
Attention to detail and thoroughness in identifying potential risks and pitfalls
Strong analytical skills
Effective team player who provides hands‑on HR support
Working Conditions
General office environment with occasional travel
Required to drive a vehicle or equipment

Pay Range
Non‑Exempt. Pay range: $26.78 to $41.86 per hour. Actual placement will depend on qualifications, experience, internal equity, and market data.
