Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to lead the accounting function for a well established and growing, multi-site dermatology group. This role is responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, ensuring timely and accurate month-end close, producing reliable financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with lender reporting requirements, including debt covenant calculations.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting expertise with healthcare industry experience and the ability to manage a high-performing team in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Close Process
Lead and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across multiple entities and locations
Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Oversee general ledger, account reconciliations, and journal entries
Continuously improve close timelines, accuracy, and internal processes
Prepare and deliver monthly financial reporting packages to executive leadership
Analyze financial results, variances, and key performance indicators
Support budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with finance leadership
Prepare and monitor debt covenant calculations in accordance with lender agreements
Ensure timely and accurate reporting to lenders and other stakeholders
Maintain compliance with all loan reporting requirements and proactively identify risks
Manage and develop the accounting team, including hiring, training, and performance management
Establish and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration
Operational & Strategic Support
Partner with revenue cycle, operations, and executive teams to support business initiatives
Assist with system implementations, process improvements, and scaling efforts
Support audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA strongly preferred)
7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles
Experience in healthcare services, ideally multi-site physician practice or dermatology group
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
Demonstrated experience with debt agreements and covenant calculations
Experience managing multi-entity accounting environments
Proficiency with accounting systems and advanced Excel skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Process-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
