Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated HS Boys Assistant Basketball Coach to join our vibrant athletic department. This position offers an exciting opportunity to inspire young athletes, develop their basketball skills, and foster a positive team environment. As an integral part of our coaching staff, you will support the head coach in planning practices, mentoring students, and promoting sportsmanship and teamwork. Your enthusiasm and expertise will help shape student‑athletes both on and off the court, encouraging their growth in leadership, discipline, and physical fitness.
Responsibilities
Assist the head coach in organizing and conducting team practices, drills, and game strategies
Support student‑athletes in developing basketball skills through coaching, feedback, and encouragement
Promote a safe and inclusive environment that emphasizes sportsmanship, teamwork, and positive behavior management
Contribute to game‑day preparations, including equipment setup and team warm‑ups
Foster communication between players, parents, teachers, and school staff to ensure a cohesive athletic experience
Support the implementation of health and safety protocols during practices and games
Skills
Experience in sports coaching with a focus on basketball
Knowledge of behavior management techniques to motivate and discipline student‑athletes effectively
Strong communication skills to collaborate with students, parents, teachers, and fellow coaches
Ability to demonstrate leadership while fostering a positive team environment that encourages growth and development
