Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated High School Boys Basketball Coach to inspire and develop young athletes both on and off the court. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead a competitive basketball program, foster teamwork, and promote sportsmanship among students. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for coaching, a strong understanding of basketball fundamentals, and experience working with high school students to help them achieve their athletic and personal goals.
Duties
Plan, organize, and lead practices to improve players’ skills, teamwork, and game strategies
Develop and implement game plans, motivate players, and provide constructive feedback during competitions
Foster a positive team environment emphasizing sportsmanship, discipline, and respect
Monitor student‑athletes’ physical health, ensuring proper warm‑up, injury prevention, and recovery protocols
Collaborate with school staff, parents, and athletic directors to support student‑athletes’ academic and athletic success
Promote safety by overseeing proper use of sports equipment and ensuring adherence to safety guidelines
Experience
Previous coaching experience in basketball or other sports at the high school level is preferred
Knowledge of physical education principles, including conditioning, injury prevention, and sports psychology
Strong communication skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and school staff
