First Hawaiian Bank is currently seeking a Talent Acquisition Recruiter to join the Talent Acquisition Team and manage the full-cycle recruitment process, ensuring a positive candidate experience and collaborating with stakeholders to meet business objectives.
Compensation
The pay range for the role is $52,000 – $68,000/yr; commensurate with experience.
Work Schedule
Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00PM; hours may vary
Responsibilities
The Talent Acquisition Recruiter plays a crucial role in First Hawaiian Bank’s Human Resources department, responsible for managing the full-cycle recruitment process and providing a seamless and positive candidate experience. This role involves collaborating with hiring managers and other stakeholders to develop and execute effective hiring strategies, with a focus on non‑exempt front‑line staff. The Recruiter utilizes a range of sourcing techniques, including online systems, social media, and community outreach, to build a strong pipeline of candidates. Additionally, they provide Human Resource consultation to hiring managers and candidates, ensuring a smooth and efficient recruitment process.
Manage job postings for branches and departments, actively screening and interviewing primarily branch and entry‑level administrative candidates
Develop sourcing strategies to build a pipeline for assigned job requisitions, utilizing online platforms, social media, and community outreach
Review applicant eligibility, conduct interviews, and track progress, ensuring a thorough assessment of candidate qualifications and cultural fit
Refer qualified candidates to relevant managers for review, ensuring proper documentation and notification of selection and non‑selection
Using sound judgment, recommend candidates for hire and negotiate salaries with managers and candidates
Analyze and respond to requests for temporary assistance, coordinating with external resources when necessary to meet urgent staffing needs
Conduct New Employee Welcome sessions on a rotational basis, ensuring effective communication of Bank and Human Resource policies and procedures
Represent First Hawaiian Bank and Human Resources at various recruiting events, including job fairs, career fairs, and professional interaction events
Prepare and analyze staffing reports, leveraging data analytics to inform talent and business decisions
Manage job requisitions and postings, working closely with the Talent Acquisition team to ensure an efficient and effective recruitment process
Serve as primary back‑up to Talent Acquisition Coordinator in new hire processing/onboarding, and other administrative tasks
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field, or equivalent work experience
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management
3 years of professional work or office experience, with 1 year of full-cycle recruitment experience
General knowledge of employment and labor laws, and an understanding of best practices in the industry
Ability to build and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with applicants, employees, and management
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work within strict timelines
Active listener with strong consultative skills, demonstrating a results‑driven and motivated approach
Experience using applicant tracking systems and proficiency in Microsoft 365 suite and HR systems
Self‑starter with a strong sense of urgency, able to work independently and as part of a team
Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information and exercise sound judgment in hiring decisions
