Break/Fix Technician - Salt Lake City
Location: Salt Lake City, Utah (Onsite)
Employment Type: Contract
Role Overview
We are seeking a Break/Fix Technician for a long‑term, multi‑year contract role. This position involves providing on‑site IT hardware support, including service delivery for IMAC, break‑fix, and deskside support tasks. The successful candidate will work across several locations in the greater Salt Lake City area and must have a reliable vehicle for travel between sites. This role is an entry point to develop technical and customer service skills within a corporate IT environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform IT service delivery, including IMAC, break‑fix, and deskside support.
Conduct troubleshooting, parts replacement, system upgrades, and basic deployments on client assets.
Coordinate with end‑users to manage expectations and schedule services.
Travel to various sites within an approximately 70‑mile range to provide support.
Identify and escalatethe potential issues that could adversely impact end‑user experience.
Adhere to predefined procedures and technical instructions for all tasks.
Serve as an entry point to develop technical skills for more challenging field‑service roles.
Required Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of 1–3 years servicing or deploying computer equipment within a corporate environment. Strong IT hardware support background and proven customer service experience, including conflict resolution.
Technical Skills: Knowledge of the Windows operating system environment is necessary. CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent knowledge is required.
Work Requirements: 100% onsite; physically able to lift up to 35 pounds and be on feet most of the day. Reliable vehicle required for travel between work locations. Must have "U.S. Person" status for verification purposes.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay rate: $17.00–$18.50 per hour.
Mileage for travel between sites will be reimbursed. A monthly stipend of $50 is provided for cell phone expenses.
This is a 100% onsite role requiring reliable vehicle and physical ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
