Statement of Duties
The employee provides customer service and clerical support to the Department and performs all related duties.

Essential Functions

Provides customer service to the public—interacting in person, via telephone, mail, and email.

Responds to inquiries, conducts research, and provides requested information.

Performs clerical duties such as making copies, filing, screening and directing phone calls, operating office equipment, sorting and distributing mail.

Creates, issues, organizes, and maintains department files.

Prepares and manages correspondence, reports, and related documentation.

Operates a variety of office equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

One to three years of experience in customer service and clerical work.

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills Required

Working knowledge of computer programs and equipment, including a timekeeping system and Office software (Word, Excel, database management); knowledge of the Internet to support operations.

Ability to interact appropriately with the public, respond to inquiries and requests, and plan and prioritize tasks; ability to access the Internet for information.

Strong attention to detail, timely performance of clerical tasks, and proficient written and oral communication skills.

Physical and Mental Requirements
Little or no physical demands. The work is primarily seated and mental, with occasional stooping, walking, standing, and light lifting. Tasks require typing, word processing, filing, and reading of documents.
