
Production Supervisor / Second Shift

Colson Group is currently seeking a Production Supervisor - Second Shift for the Jonesboro manufacturing location. This position will supervise the manufacturing team to fulfill daily responsibilities of metal cutting, forming, stamping, welding, plating and assembling customer orders. Oversee the replenishment of material for production, and the movement of finished goods into inventory. Through the leading of personnel; accomplish work results, priorities, and monitor/report on progress. Report on those activities to management in the support of company initiatives, standards, policies and overall continuous improvement.
Essential Job Functions
Supervise personnel to accomplish positive work results, establish priorities, and monitor progress.
Report, as needed to management, the results of production activities.
Ensure all employees work to achieve a high level of productivity while maintaining product quality.
Ensure input all daily employee paperwork (labor, scrap, SPC) into the labor reporting system.
Support company initiatives by maintaining adherence to organization standards and policies.
Support the creation and sustainment of processes and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and supporting continuous improvement.
Use Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques to enhance and improve productivity.
Support the efforts of other departments through prompt responsiveness to requests and inquiries.
Knowledge
Bachelor's Degree in field related to Supervision, Organizational Development or 2-5 years equivalent work experience
Experience
Required at least 1-2 years
Leading teams to accomplish daily production/assembly goals required
Maintaining quality in a production environment
Preferred at least 1-2 years
Reporting production/assembly results
Skills
Ability to provide team leadership, lead problem solving initiatives, establish team goals
Knowledge of workflow methodologies
Able to organize daily work and track accountability
Ability to use MS Office (Outlook, MS Word, Excel, etc.)
Knowledge and ability to use ERP systems such as Epicor
Able to lead personnel in daily duties by leading be example
Able to accomplish work results, prioritize, monitor work progress, report results of workflow on shift summaries
Training in material handling equipment
Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards
Good work ethic
Work is physically strenuous and workers are required to lift heavy packages up to 50 pounds
Work may require excessive bending or stooping
Walk long distances repeatedly throughout the day
Climb ladders
Use hand tools
Operate heavy machinery
Organize and coordinate schedules
Analyze and interpret complex data
Problem-solve
Communicate with the public
Manage other employees
