Position Description
Ryder is hiring a NON-CDL Truck Driver in Edgewood, NY — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about.

Pay & Benefits

Driver Positions Pay Weekly: $1140 or more per week

Hourly Pay: $24.00 per hour

Hours per week: 40–50 hours

Paid training

Schedule: Monday – Friday, no weekends

Start time: 5:00 AM Dispatch

Medical, dental & vision after 30 days

80 hours PTO first year, starting Day 1 (use it or get paid for it)

Uniforms, cell phone & boot allowance provided

Drivers are the Captain — you make safety decisions, and your job is protected

Route & Truck Information

Delivery, SOLO to: 250-mile radius of Edgewood NY including the five boroughs

Route: Local home daily

Truck type: 26' Box Truck

Equipment: Dolly and door cart

Freight: Touch – Windows & Doors

Trucks are 36 months or newer, include 24/7 roadside maintenance and company drivers fuel up the trucks at over 800 maintenance facilities nationwide

Requirements

Minimum 21 years of age

Minimum of 6 months of verifiable driving experience

Pass a Ryder drug test

Must have verifiable driving experience (if position is operating a straight truck or box truck): 6 months experience in the past 3 years, or 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, or 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years

Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years

Pass a DOT physical

Pass a Ryder road test

Must have a valid driver’s license

Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions

Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures

Responsibilities

Safely drive a vehicle within and outside the designated route and comply with safety regulations, continuous training and customer service

Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines

Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards

Maintaining accurate records, loading/unloading freight or assisting in such if required by customer

Other tasks as assigned
