Position Summary
This direct care staff member works in a residential/vocational facility and collaborates with staff and families to provide training in self‑help, communication, social and leisure skills, vocational skills, behavioral support, and independence for adults with autism.
Core Responsibilities
Deliver individualized skill‑development activities for residents with autism.
Support residents in daily living, communication, and social interactions.
Implement behavior support plans and promote positive behaviors.
Assist with the maintenance of houses, gardens, and grounds, including outdoor work in varied weather.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, families, and community resources.
Qualifications
Demonstrated competencies necessary to perform direct care of adults with autism.
Experience with autism and/or other developmental disabilities.
Experience working with adults with disabilities.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Valid NC Driver’s License.
Physical & Mental Requirements
Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
Capacity to assist with upkeep of houses, gardens, and grounds.
Benefits
Eligible for a SIGN‑ON BONUS of $1,200, paid in two installments: $600 within 30 days of hire and $600 12 months after hire, subject to eligibility criteria.
