About The Role
Hands‑on problem solver with a passion for keeping facilities safe, efficient, and operational. Join a global leader in real‑estate services to maintain and repair building systems—including mechanical, plumbing, electrical, fire safety, and HVAC—while ensuring compliance with safety codes and energy efficiency standards on a large commercial property in Seattle, WA.
What You’ll Do
Perform maintenance and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems, keeping facility and building systems up to applicable standards.
Align with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.
Maintain an energy management program to ensure all systems operate in the most efficient manner.
Assist with implementing a preventive maintenance program to keep building machinery and systems meeting or exceeding their rated life; perform emergency repairs as needed.
Follow departmental policies for safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials, maintaining a clean and safe workplace.
Review inspections of building systems—including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing—to verify equipment operation within design capabilities and client‑prescribed environmental conditions.
Apply advanced knowledge to tackle sophisticated problems, mentor others across fields, and lead by example in alignment with CBRE RISE values to foster collaboration and consensus.
What You’ll Need
High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma (or equivalent experience) with 4‑5 years of relevant work experience. Universal CFC certification preferred. Certifications/licenses required by local or state jurisdictions as applicable. Prior shift management or supervisory experience preferred.
Meet the physical requirements of the role, including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting/carrying heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
Exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and prior CMMS experience preferred.
Organizational skills with a sophisticated inquisitive attitude.
Calculative ability to perform mildly sophisticated figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial‑related calculations.

Compensation
The Building Engineer position offers a salary range of $35 to $40 per hour, depending on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
