Bus Monitor – Dalton Public Schools

Duties and Responsibilities
Supervise students while boarding, riding, and exiting the school bus to ensure safety and appropriate behavior.
Assist students, including those with special needs, in safely entering and exiting the bus.
Ensure students are seated properly and follow established safety procedures.
Maintain order on the bus and report disciplinary concerns to appropriate school officials.
Communicate effectively with the bus driver regarding student needs or issues during routes.
Monitor and assist with the use of safety equipment, including seat belts and wheelchair restraints if applicable.
Provide support during emergency situations, including evacuations, following established protocols.
Maintain a respectful and supportive environment for all students.
Complete required reports and documentation as needed.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience working with children, preferably in a school or childcare setting.
Job Requirements
Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
Position is for a minimum of 5 hours per day and follows the student calendar. This position is for the 2026-2027 school year.
