
Financial Planning Specialist

Job Description
This position supports both operating and non‑operating special projects and serves as a key financial partner to Maintenance & Engineering Management. The Maintenance Finance Analyst is responsible for the planning, forecasting, reporting, and analysis of all Maintenance Other Expense, Other Occupancy Expense, and Depreciation & Amortization accounts. This analyst position includes working with ACMX operations as part of the business planning, forecasting, as well as monthly closing and relative cost variance explanations.
Regular Responsibilities
Regular responsibilities include: completing quarterly planning and audits, financial analyses, supporting Coupa vendor payment system, oversight and guidance for all corporate purchasing cards and American Express cards while maintaining appropriate internal controls and other ad‑hoc projects as requested. Provide monthly and quarterly variance explanations for financial results compared to plan. Monthly closing responsibilities and weekly cost forecasts. Creates processes and procedures to improve efficiency and user system knowledge specific to the Global development resources.
Entry Level
Entry‑level to UPS’s professional career track. Typically requires a four‑year degree or equivalent experience.
Required Skills
Business degree or working towards bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related business field.
Microsoft Access/Excel i.e., pivot tables, formula creation.
Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Research and troubleshooting skills.
Good communication skills (both oral and written).
Preferred Skills
Working knowledge of UPS Finance and Accounting systems.
Working knowledge of OneStream, OBI, BRIO and Coupa. Good interpersonal skills is a plus.
Process Improvement and Cost Minimization mindset.
