
Senior Project Controller

SkillSetGroup is seeking an experienced Project Controller to work in the Phoneix, AZ area. This position will be overseeing the accounting staff and all financial functions and assisting with negotiating and reviewing customer contracts.
Hours:
Flexible start time or 7-8AM, Mon-Fri
Details:
8+ years of accounting experience, with construction accounting strongly preferred, and prior supervisory or management experience required
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
Oversee 5 employees: 2 AP’s, 2 AR’s, 1 Staff Accountant
Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and job costing principles
Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
Oversee all accounting functions including AP, AR, payroll entries, job costing, and account reconciliations
Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis to support operational performance and decision-making
Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, audits, and construction-specific reporting requirements
Supervise and develop accounting staff while maintaining strong internal controls
Review and manage WIP reporting, revenue recognition, and cost allocation across multiple projects
