Job Purpose And Overview
The Payroll Analyst supports accurate and timely payroll processing, payroll compliance, and payroll data integrity across the United States with exposure to Canadian payroll processes. The role performs payroll analysis, audits, reconciliations, and issue resolution while partnering with HR, Finance, and Shared Services to ensure effective payroll operations.
What will you do as a Payroll Analyst at Dawn Foods?
Support and process U.S. payroll cycles, ensuring accurate execution of bi‑weekly and off‑cycle payrolls.
Assist with payroll compliance activities, ensuring adherence to U.S. federal, state, and local payroll regulations; support Canadian payroll compliance as assigned.
Perform payroll audits and validations, including payroll registers, earnings, deductions, taxes, and benefits.
Assist with payroll tax activities such as reconciliations, agency filings, remittances, and year‑end reporting (e.g., W‑2, W‑3; exposure to T4/RL‑1 processes).
Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies such as pay adjustments, retroactive payments, garnishments, and employee inquiries.
Support payroll reconciliations, including tax liability balancing, benefit deduction reconciliation, and general ledger alignment.
Assist with payroll and time‑keeping system maintenance, testing, integrations, and data validation efforts.
Partner with HR, Finance, Benefits, and Shared Services teams to resolve payroll issues and ensure data accuracy.
Contribute to payroll process improvements, documentation, and standard operating procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What Does It Take to be a Payroll Analyst at Dawn Foods?
A high school diploma or GED is required.
A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, plus a minimum of 3 years’ experience supporting payroll operations across multiple U.S. states in a complex environment. Canadian payroll experience across multiple provinces is strongly preferred.
In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 7 years of relevant payroll experience is required.
Working knowledge of U.S. payroll laws, wage and hour regulations, and payroll tax requirements.
Experience with payroll systems, time‑keeping platforms, and integrations (e.g., ADP, Kronos, Ceridian, SAP, or similar HRIS/payroll systems).
Experience performing payroll audits, reconciliations, and issue resolution.
Payroll certification (FPC, CPP, or Canadian payroll coursework) preferred but not required.
Strong attention to detail with solid analytical, organizational, and time‑management skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to partner cross‑functionally.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
Primarily operates in an office or remote work environment, requiring extended periods of sitting and computer use.
Regular use of a computer, keyboard, and telephone is required.
Must be able to read and analyze data on computer screens and reports for extended periods.
Occasional standing, walking, bending, and reaching may be required during normal work activities.
Ability to lift or move office materials and equipment up to approximately 10–15 pounds may be required occasionally.
Manual dexterity sufficient to operate office equipment, including computers, printers, and other standard office devices, is required.
Occasional travel (up to 10%) may be required for team meetings, training, or project collaboration.

The base salary range for this position is $68,700–$105,800 with bonus eligibility.
