Position Overview
Lighthouse Christian Academy is seeking a passionate 5th-8th Grade Math Teacher who will guide students to explore God’s ordered world with wonder, critical thinking, and reflection. The ideal candidate loves Jesus, loves students, and desires to teach math within a classical framework that cultivates a sincere curiosity and joy of learning within each student.
Key Responsibilities
Teach math courses using tried and true order of mathematics concepts
Partner with parents by communicating regularly about academic and spiritual growth
Integrate Biblical worldview with content
Plan and implement engaging, age‑appropriate lessons
Shepherd students’ hearts and minds with gospel‑centered instruction and encouragement
Set and uphold clear expectations for behavior and participation
Build strong relationships with students and their families
Participate actively in school life: devotions, meetings, and events
Qualifications
A mature, growing faith in Jesus Christ
Bachelor’s degree in math, education, or a related field
Teaching experience, preferably in a classical school
Strong classroom management and organizational skills
Willingness to support and uphold the mission and vision of LCA
Eagerness to grow in the Classical Christian tradition and one’s academic field
The ability to lead students with clear, kind authority
A heart for discipleship and the formation of holistic integrity
