Position Overview
Lighthouse Christian Academy is seeking a passionate
5th-8th Grade Science Teacher
who will guide students to explore God’s creation with wonder, critical thinking, and theological reflection. The ideal candidate loves Jesus, loves students, and desires to teach science within a classical framework that cultivates a sincere curiosity and joy of learning within each student.
Key Responsibilities
Teach science courses using hands‑on activities, experiments, and Socratic discussion
Integrate Biblical worldview with scientific content
Plan and implement engaging, age‑appropriate lessons
Shepherd students’ hearts and minds with gospel‑centered instruction and encouragement
Set and uphold clear expectations for behavior and participation
Build strong relationships with students and their families
Use the
Love and Logic
approach for classroom management
Communicate regularly with parents about academic and spiritual growth
Participate actively in school life: devotions, meetings, and events
Qualifications
A mature, growing faith in Jesus Christ
Bachelor's degree in science, education, or a related field
Teaching experience, preferably in a classical or Christian school
Strong classroom management and organizational skills
Willingness to support and uphold the mission and vision of LCA
Eagerness to grow in the Classical Christian tradition and one's academic field
The ability to lead students with clear, kind authority
A heart for discipleship and the formation of holistic integrity
