
Women’s Shelter Guest Advocate

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Determine guest’s needs within the first seven days.
Set goals and deal with issues that have caused homelessness leading to permanent housing oradmission to a needed program.
Have knowledge of, and make referrals to, agencies and help that is available in the community.
Help with accountability and enforcement of case management / money management. Responsible to do weekly case management.
Job Standards
Bachelor’s Degree in Bible, Christian Education, Social Work, or a related field.
Ability to communicate verbally with guests’ families, other helping agencies, and church representatives, board members, the public, and other staff members.
Ability to read/write English and document transactions. Knowing Spanish as a second languagewould be a plus.
Must be honest, dependable, and exhibit a warm, cheerful, caring manner.
Must be able to safely perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
Must have a valid Michigan driver’s license.
