The Barista contributes to Starbucks success by providing legendary customer service to all customers. The Barista provides customers a Starbucks experience by providing customers with prompt service, quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean and comfortable environment.

Duties and Responsibilities
Prepares quality beverages and food products consistently for all customers by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards
Maintains a clean and organized workspace so that partners can locate resources and products as needed
Contributes to positive team environment by recognizing alarms or changes in partner morale and performance by communicating them to the supervisor
Delivers legendary customer service to all customers by acting with a customer comes first attitude and connecting with the customer; Discovers and responds to customer needs
Assists in new partner training by positively reinforcing successful performance
Maintains regular and punctual attendance
Anticipates customer and store needs by constantly evaluating the environment and customers for cues
Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep store operating to standards
Follows health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all products
Other duties & responsibilities as assigned
Job Requirements
High School diploma or GED required or currently enrolled and successfully complete a GED program within six (6) months from start date as a condition of continued employment
Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older
Ability to work as part of a team and build relationships
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to learn quickly
Demonstrated ability to communicate, in English, effectively both verbally and in writing, and understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formats
Must successfully pass job interview, including a guest service audition
Must successfully complete BASSET training
Must successfully complete ServeSafe Sanitation training
Willing and able to work odd or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
Willing to travel and participate in training as recommended or required
Must have an Occupational License (or the ability to obtain and maintain a license) pursuant to the Illinois Gaming Act and remain in good standing with the Illinois Gaming Board as a requirement for this position
Base Pay
Pay range - $15.00 - $20.63 (The base pay will depend on factors such as experience level and skillset.)
Voluntary full-time benefit offerings include the following - group medical, dental, vision, and life insurance as well as access to a flexible spending account (FSA) option. We also offer Employee Assistant Program (EAP), paid time off, 401K with matching, shift differential, and discretionary quarterly bonuses.
