Overview
As a Logistics Supervisor you will lead daily warehouse operations that include Automated Guide Vehicle performance, palletizing finished product and receipt/storage of inbound raw material loads (van, bulk truck, and bulk railcar). Support the warehouse operations that include the loading and shipping of finished product to both GMI service facilities and to customers. Combined operations include leadership of Material Handling Technicians and movement raw and finished materials per shift. The Logistics Supervisor plays an integral role as a front line leader in a manufacturing environment and will have specific responsibilities as a champion for Continuous Improvement. Key Accountabilities
Establish and sustain sound relationships with all employees to foster an inclusive environment
Educate, develop and motivate a manufacturing team to work toward zero losses, achieving production results, improving individual technical skills, and enabling collaboration across boundaries
Partner closely cross-functional team to drive out losses and develop and engage team members in foundational systems
Ensure the proper training, development and motivation of the team to maximize current and future performance
Ensure that production facilities and finished products meet the company and government standards for safety, quality, and sanitation
Function as a technical resource in areas of system operations and product requirements
Facilitate the effective interchange of information between work groups, cross-functional resources, and other members of the plant and corporate teams
Lead projects for the department including Human Safety, Food Safety, and Improvement-plan focused initiatives
Support raw material and finished goods cycle count program
Manage Warehouse and Yard flow of materials and storage
Support material discrepancies to ensure accurate financials and inventory levels
Manage the shift:
On-shift safety, quality of product, execution of shift specific improvement plan actions
Daily staffing and timecard approvals
Directing work of operators, technicians, and/or crew leaders
Leading Shift Hand-offs
Temporary employee management
Onboarding of employees
Team and individual employee development
Performance management and incentives
Own accuracy and timeliness of performance metrics for shift
Start-up and changeover execution
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma
2+ years related experience
Demonstrated leadership skills
Strong interpersonal, communication and listening skills
Ability to adjust to multiple demands, shifting work priorities, ambiguity, adversity and change
Demonstrated understanding of technology and providing solutions to technical challenges
Strong conceptual skills and ability to implement change
Sound analytical and business judgment including demonstrated problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills
Ability to plan, lead, and execute initiatives in a complex environment
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree, preferably in Math, Science, Engineering or Supply Chain
5+ years working in a manufacturing, warehouse or logistics environment
Union experience
Experience leading change
Previous logistics/warehousing continuous improvement program experience

International relocation or international remote working arrangements (outside of the US) will not be considered.

Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $70,100.00 - $105,200.00 / Annually. Pay reflects experiences, performance, and skills for the current role. Beyond base salary, rewards may include a competitive Total Rewards package with health benefits, retirement and wellbeing programs. An annual incentive program may be available depending on factors including individual and organizational performance.
