
Barista I (Academic)

Join the heart of campus life at the University of Arizona Student Unions, where culinary meets community. We are seeking a passionate Barista to bring their skills to our dynamic team. This position performs various duties necessary in the preparation or service of food, and provides quality customer service to students, faculty, staff and guests.
This position requires availability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Duties & Responsibilities
Greets and welcomes customers while providing exceptional customer service.
Take orders, including offering menu recommendations and noting dietary restrictions or special requests.
Prepare and serve hot and cold beverages and food items according to the standardized recipes or as customized for customers.
Maintain food safety standards.
Receive and process payments accurately using the point of sale systems.
Assist with opening and closing duties, ensuring all stations, equipment, and storage areas are properly secured and stocked.
Restock supplies such as cups, lids, coffee beans, syrups and food items.
Maintain workstations, including keeping them clean and stocked.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including sanitizing equipment, wiping counters, and following food safety standards.
Monitor and record appropriate temperatures for storage and equipment to ensure product quality and safety.
Ensure all food prep equipment, stations and storage areas are cleaned and maintained.
Additional duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Knowledge of sanitation and quality food service standards.
Knowledge of weights and measures.
Ability to effectively communicate and provide excellent customer service.
Physical Requirement
Ability to occasionally transport/move a maximum of 50 pounds.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.
Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
