Position Overview
Part‑Time Veterinarian position with predictable hours and a consistent home hospital assignment. This role supports a locally led care team while providing clinical engagement without sacrificing balance, connection, or continuity of care.
Key Responsibilities
Comprehensive patient exams and medical work‑ups
Client communication and education
Perform diagnostic procedures and surgery
Maintain accurate medical records
Pharmacy duties such as prescription and controlled substance protocols
Promote teamwork and staff efficiency
Work with the Hospital Manager on weekly priorities
Evaluate and monitor protocols for daily operations from intake to discharge
Attend daily rounds and monitor cases to ensure high standards
Participate in practice management updates and training
Perform other duties assigned by Management
Qualifications (Required)
Veterinarian degree (DVM or VMD) from an accredited college or university
Current State Veterinary License
DEA registration obtained and maintained
Minimum of 1 year experience in a veterinary practice
Strong diagnostic and clinical skills
Excellent surgical and dental skills
Team‑oriented work ability
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
Commitment to compassionate, high‑quality care
Effective communication with medical, hospital staff, and clients
Ability to elicit information, establish rapport, and provide explanations to pet owners
Confidence and reassurance when dealing with stressed or ill pets
Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform moderate physical tasks
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
Clinical assessment of animals including cardiovascular, respiratory, orthopedic, neurological exams
Problem‑solving for high‑quality veterinary hospital challenges
Effective communication of diagnostic and therapeutic options to clients and staff
Professionalism and constructive feedback within a veterinary team
Business acumen regarding veterinary practice finances
Knowledge of ethical principles guiding patient care decisions
Commitment to continuing education and facilitating learning for others
