We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Parts Manager specializing in heavy equipment to lead our parts department. This pivotal role involves overseeing inventory control, procurement, and supplier relationships to ensure the seamless availability of parts necessary for equipment maintenance, repair, and manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, expertise in supply chain management, and proficiency with ERP systems and inventory management tools. As Parts Manager, you will play a critical role in optimizing warehouse operations, managing logistics, and supporting customer service excellence across our heavy equipment division.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the procurement process for heavy equipment parts, including sourcing OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) and aftermarket components

Oversee inventory management using ERP systems and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to maintain optimal stock levels

Coordinate shipping and receiving activities to ensure timely delivery of parts

Develop and implement demand planning strategies to forecast parts needs accurately

Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to maximize cost efficiency while maintaining quality standards

Supervise warehouse operations, including storage, organization, and safety compliance

Utilize automotive diagnostics knowledge for troubleshooting parts issues and supporting automotive repair teams

Maintain accurate data entry related to inventory control, order management, and procurement records

Collaborate with service technicians, dealerships, and external vendors to ensure parts availability aligns with operational demands

Monitor supply chain performance metrics and identify opportunities for process improvements

Experience
Candidates should possess a minimum of five years of experience in parts management within heavy equipment or automotive industries. Prior dealership experience or background in manufacturing environments is highly desirable. Proficiency in ERP systems such as AS400 or similar order management systems is essential. Familiarity with warehouse management practices, logistics coordination, and procurement management is required. Candidates must demonstrate strong negotiation skills, mechanical aptitude, and comprehensive knowledge of automotive service procedures. Experience with HVAC systems, auto body repair components, shipping & receiving processes, and sourcing strategies will be considered advantageous. A solid understanding of inventory control principles combined with excellent customer service skills is vital for success in this role.
