2nd shift Production Supervisor- Weld

Responsibilities

Promote good housekeeping practices and a safe workplace
Evaluate and document safe work habits
Perform safety inspections
Participate in safety training and provide safety training
Facilitate quality improvement and prevention-oriented quality assurance
Responsible for departmental inventory accuracy
Report and assist in resolving all quality-oriented issues
Assist in meeting annual productivity and performance goals
Work with Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Purchasing, and Vendors to ensure the best overall costs are procured in specific cost reduction efforts
Ensure customer requirements are met by meeting the established build/ship schedule
Track and report department performance metrics
Responsible for timely disposition of all non-conforming material
Responsible for specific cost reduction efforts
Manage required shop tools and supplies within cost and quality guidelines
Effectively plan manpower and overtime to ensure deliveries are met with the least amount of actual hours
Be knowledgeable of and ensure all company policies are being followed
Facilitate employee training for flexibility and to ensure manpower coverage
Promote the growth and development of production employees – guide, coach, appraise and discipline employees as appropriate
Promote and facilitate the movement towards high performance teams
Conduct employee performance appraisals
Conduct interviews for prospective employees
Keep employee time & attendance records up to date in the time & attendance system
Experience and Skills Required

Weld experience is preferred
Minimum 3 years of leadership/supervisory experience
Experience working with lean manufacturing & continuous improvements
Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
Familiar with the equipment and processes in the department
Well organized with good communication, leadership, problem solving and cost management skills
Mechanical, electrical, hydraulic skills
Ability to read blueprints, schematics and bills of material
Process improvement experience
Good computer skills
Education Required

High school diploma required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Salary Range

$75-95k
