Job Title: Mail Clerk- Check Processor
Location: Winston Salem, NC- ONSITE
Duration: 12 month contract
Rate: $18-20/hr
Position Overview
A large healthcare organization is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Mail Clerk / Check Processor to support day-to-day financial and mailroom operations. This role focuses on handling incoming checks, ensuring associated documentation is routed correctly, and researching vendor refund checks to ensure accurate coding and deposit processing.
This position is well-suited for someone who is organized, process-driven, and comfortable handling confidential financial materials in an onsite environment.
Key Responsibilities
Open, sort, and process incoming mail containing checks and financial documentation
Ensure all required attachments are returned with checks via mail, FedEx, or interoffice delivery
Research vendor refund checks to determine appropriate coding and deposit routing
Prepare checks and documentation for deposit following established procedures
Maintain accuracy and documentation throughout the check handling and routing process
Assist with additional administrative or financial support tasks as needed
Utilize ERP systems or internal tools to support tracking and processing (as applicable)
Required Qualifications
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive financial information
Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working fully onsite
Basic computer and data-entry skills
