Service Manager

Mission
Develop the service business in the assigned region/area in accordance with Atlas Copco standards, while always striving to understand the needs and expectations of the customer. Provide daily oversight for a team of experienced Service Technicians. Also provide guidance on customer care and technical issues.

Business Management
Develop the service business in the assigned region/area, establishing goals for service‑related products and results. Meet or exceed established business goals. Control costs and maximize profit levels. Strengthen customer relations by making routine visits to resolve issues, advising on service standards, and selling service plans/products, including training as required. Oversee the daily operations of a team of experienced Service Technicians, providing leadership, development, support, and motivation. Plan and control the daily workload of the Service Technicians and provide technical support to them and customers. Interview, hire, and orient new employees. Oversee and improve the efficiency of daily administrative routines.

Customer Relations
Visit customers and provide advice on service standards; sell service plans, products, and training. Proactively identify, pursue, and resolve service issues. Support the daily operations of Service Technicians by facilitating communications with technical support, sales/marketing, and the customer. Take appropriate actions to get the job done and maintain communications with all necessary parties. Communicate with Service Coordinators to address scheduling issues and provide reports concerning work‑in‑process.

Safety
Maintain a safe working environment while enforcing safety procedures and compliance with Federal laws and regulations. Arrange safety training for Service Technicians as mandated by regulatory agencies and customers. Maintain documentation/certification records for this training.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Experience

– 5--7 years of directly relevant experience, preferably within the Atlas Copco Group.

Education

– High school diploma required; two or four‑year technical college degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills

– Must be self‑directed and have excellent organizational, supervisory, interpersonal, verbal and written communication, and problem‑solving skills. Knowledge of safety practices and procedures and OSHA regulatory compliance is required. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and in SAP applications. Some travel required. Must have a valid driver’s license.

Salary Range: $100K+ based on knowledge, skills, and experience.

Job Location
This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on‑site at our Minneapolis, MN office.
