Elayn Hunt Correctional Center is seeking a highly organized, strategic, and mission-driven
Executive Management Officer
to support the administrative and operational functions of the Warden’s office. This position plays a key leadership role by coordinating high-level management activities, ensuring compliance with departmental policies, and providing direct support to executive leadership in advancing the center’s goals.
As the Executive Management Officer, you will oversee critical administrative processes, manage complex projects, prepare reports and briefings, and facilitate communication across departments. You will work closely with the warden, deputy wardens, and division leaders to support efficient operations, informed decision-making, and the effective delivery of correctional services.

Job Duties
Oversee Administrative Review and Program Evaluation
– Conduct ongoing assessments of institutional services, operations, and programs to ensure daily compliance with departmental policies, operational standards, and best‑practice correctional procedures. Identify areas for improvement and provide recommendations to executive leadership.
Serve as Employee Activity Committee Board Member and Media Liaison
– Act as an active member of the Employee Activity Committee and function as the designated Media Liaison for EHCC during routine operations and major incidents. Prepare and distribute press releases, public information announcements, and official communications related to facility events, ensuring accuracy, professionalism, and alignment with departmental guidelines.
Manage ACA Accreditation Processes
– Serve as EHCC’s Accreditation Manager for the American Correctional Association (ACA). Maintain continuous compliance with national accreditation standards, coordinate documentation efforts with ACA file managers, and provide guidance and support to other facilities and agencies working toward accreditation. Lead preparation for audits, reviews, and reaccreditation cycles.
Represent the Department on Statewide Task Forces and Committees
– At the direction of the Secretary, participate in statewide task forces, committees, and audit teams that influence departmental policy, operational improvements, and statewide correctional initiatives. Provide informed input, represent EHCC’s interests, and contribute to system-wide strategic planning.
Qualifications
Six years of experience in administrative services; or
Six years of full–time experience in any field plus three years of experience in administrative services; or
A bachelor’s degree plus three years of experience in administrative services; or
An advanced degree or a Juris Doctorate plus two years of experience in administrative services.
Experience Substitution:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience toward the six years of full‑time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours, which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
Position‑Specific Details
Appointment Type: Permanent, classified employee of Louisiana Department of Public Safety & Corrections – Corrections Services (Adult DOC). An employee selected for detail may be permanently promoted to this position if a position becomes available.
