Attendance & Discipline Secretary - Junior High

Job Goal: To interact positively with students and staff in a friendly, helpful manner, and perform secretarial duties efficiently and expeditiously to benefit the operation of the school and its attendance and discipline programs.
Terms of Employment: Full-time; 10 months
Evaluation: Evaluated annually in accordance with the provisions of the district's Personnel Evaluation Policy
Essential Functions:
Consistent and punctual "on-site" attendance at the worksite is an essential job function.
Maintain student attendance/discipline records/detentions/locker assignments
Post attendance on computer and contact families daily
Run attendance and discipline reports/letters
Communicate attendance concerns with the Assistant Principal, Principal, and guidance counselors
Answer phone, intercom, and e-mail communication
Report attendance and discipline concerns to appropriate community agencies
Maintain bell schedule, update marquee sign, cafeteria TVs with daily announcements
Coordinate with JH Administration regarding changes in Junior High/District Student Handbook
Ability to operate office machines
Cover for other office staff during lunch and breaks
Supervision of students in the office area
Coordinate homework for students who are absent due to illness or other reasons
Monitor camera security system
Maintain staff attendance/coordinate substitutes through AESOP system/weekly report
Yearly update staff supervision
Maintain confidentiality at all times
Other duties as assigned by building principal

Balance a variety of tasks and projects at the same time.
Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development.
