Job Title
MEP Project Manager

Responsibilities

Manage multiple commercial and industrial MEP projects from kickoff to closeout, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, schedule, and budget targets.

Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, building strong, long‑term relationships through proactive communication and effective problem‑solving.

Translate project scope, schedules, and technical requirements into clear, actionable direction for field leadership, engineering teams, and subcontractors.

Develop, manage, and track project financials, including scopes of work, schedules of values, labor budgets, productivity KPIs, and cost control measures.

Coordinate procurement activities, including equipment and material planning, to align deliveries with project schedules and labor resources.

Participate in monthly financial forecasting and project review meetings, identifying risks and opportunities early and recommending corrective actions.

Support, mentor, and develop project engineers and staff, fostering accountability, technical growth, and a collaborative team environment.

Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, resolving technical, schedule, and cost challenges to keep projects on track.

Maintain accurate and complete project documentation in accordance with company standards, contract requirements, and regulatory obligations.

Ensure that safety and quality standards are upheld on every project and jobsite, promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Coordinate and collaborate with field teams working in remote field offices to ensure consistent execution and alignment with project objectives.

Oversee multiple projects concurrently, prioritizing tasks and resources to meet deadlines and client expectations.

Leverage hands‑on engineering expertise to support design decisions, troubleshoot field issues, and validate constructability of HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems.

Essential Skills

Minimum of 4–5 years’ experience in project management within commercial or industrial MEP, HVAC, or related construction environments.

Hands‑on engineering experience with mechanical systems and field conditions.

Strong technical knowledge of HVAC sheet metal, hydronic piping, refrigerant piping, and related equipment.

Experience managing commercial HVAC and plumbing projects, including coordination of piping design and installation.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining control over scope, schedule, and budget.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for project documentation, reporting, and communication.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical and project information to clients, field teams, and stakeholders.

Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and maintain accurate documentation.

Collaborative working style, with demonstrated success in cross‑functional teamwork and coordination.

Proven leadership abilities, including the ability to direct project teams and hold team members accountable.

Strong client relationship skills, with experience serving as a primary client contact.

Ability to work effectively in remote field offices and jobsite environments.

BS degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent relevant experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with large infrastructure projects, including commercial construction and sheet metal installations.

Experience with Revit for coordination of MEP systems.

Familiarity with project and accounting software.

Experience with Microsoft Project for scheduling and project planning.

Experience with Autodesk tools for design and coordination.

Familiarity with COINS ERP or similar construction ERP systems.

Demonstrated ability to analyze productivity KPIs and use data to drive project performance improvements.

Work Environment
This role is based onsite in San Jose and involves regular work at project locations and field offices. The MEP Project Manager works closely with field leadership, project engineers, subcontractors, and clients in a fast‑paced commercial and industrial construction environment with a strong pipeline of awarded work. The position requires frequent coordination with onsite teams, use of standard office technologies such as Microsoft Office, and interaction with project tools including Microsoft Project, Autodesk applications, Revit, and ERP systems such as COINS. The work environment emphasizes safety, quality, and collaboration, with a focus on delivering complex MEP projects on time and within budget.

Job Type & Location
Permanent position based out of San Jose, CA.

Pay and Benefits
Pay range: $130,000.00 – $150,000.00 per year.
