JOB SUMMARY
Supervises, coordinates, and participates in the activities of multi-craft crews engaged in repair, troubleshooting and maintenance of electric-power generating equipment to ensure effective and efficient operation of a power plant.
LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY
Supervises daily activities of team. Sets priorities to accomplish task or process completion. Decisions guided by policies, procedures and business plan.
May perform the same work as subordinates.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
All other duties as assigned.
Continually seeks process improvement to save cost and increase efficiency.
Establishes work schedule for personnel within area of responsibility.
Recommends training for all crew members in the proper operations and maintenance procedures associated with all process equipment.
Confers with the planning group to analyze the Plant Maintenance Program to determine reliability, costs savings and work efficiency.
Maintains records on auxiliary equipment to record various repairs, maintenance and clearance measurements to ensure a complete maintenance history of equipment through the Plant Maintenance Program.
Insures team members' individual safety and protection of the Company's assets by following approved policies and standards.
Supervises and directs the activities of a work crew engaged in repair and maintenance of electric-power generating equipment.
Confers with contractors to resolve problems in installation and start-up of new equipment.
Inspects contractors' work for compliance to specifications and initiates appropriate corrective action.
Adheres to safe working practices, governmental regulations and company policies.
Promotes safety programs by means of safety meetings for crew to minimize accidents and ensure the safety of all personnel.
Confers with equipment representatives to select and recommend new supplies and researching maintenance methods, technical papers, catalogs and other reference materials to improve operations.
Facilitates preventive maintenance planning as indicated by process standards, including assists scheduling inspections and major overhauls in coordination with other operating activities.
Responsible for the inspection of equipment to ascertain problems and initiate or recommend appropriate action to resolve the problem.
Leads and influences team members to achieve results relative to safety, environmental, reliability, costs and continuous improvement; Leads as a strong role model for the culture of IIF (Incident and Injury Free) and accountability; Responsible for the proper staffing and utilization of manpower on the shift.
REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma/GED; and
5 years Power Plant experience or equivalent industrial maintenance experience (e.g., industrial material handling, chemical, or related process plant) to include 2 years Sr level technical/mechanical experience (e.g., Sr Plant Mechanic, Sr I&C Technician); and
Demonstrated leadership experience by leading work groups (i.e. during outages, Acting Foreman, etc.).
WORKING CONDITIONS
May be required to work non-standard work schedules to including overtime, weekends, holidays, on-call and call-outs.
May require travel.
PAE certification in required systems must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
Majority of time may be spent performing the same work as subordinates.
May be required to work at heights up to and exceeding thirty (30) feet, underground.
May be exposed to extreme conditions and inclement weather.
