Registered Medical Assistant (MA) – Heart Failure Clinic
Location: 711 Medical Village Dr, Edgewood, Kentucky
Job Summary
St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Registered Medical Assistant for our Heart Failure Clinic located within the Heart and Vascular Institute. Full‑time, 40 hours per week, first shift only. No evenings, weekends, or holidays required. Travel to other Kentucky clinic sites may be required.
Responsibilities
Patient registration
Patient scheduling
Patient billing
Pre‑certification (collect insurance information; receipt of co‑pays or bill payments)
Medical records retrieval, release, or collection
Data entry
Provide customer‑focused service and support patient flow in a unit or department. Coordinate patient flow and initiate follow‑up with appropriate staff. Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors, and employees regardless of cultural background.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Secretarial related courses
Graduate of accredited medical assisting school
Successfully completed registration/certification exam
Minimum 3 years related experience in a medical office setting, including customer service/receptionist/registration, scheduling, filing, telephone etiquette, patient billing, and computer service.
Specialized Knowledge
Medical terminology
Computer fluency/literacy
Communication skills (verbal and written)
Maintain patient confidentiality
Organization and prioritization skills
DESIRABLE
Associate degree or certificate
Experience with computers and electronic medical records
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Experience with electronic medical records software, e.g., EPIC
