Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Location: TCU 6C Neuroscience Telemetry Unit, Edgewood Hospital
Job Summary
St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) for our 28‑bed neurosciences telemetry unit. The role includes on‑the‑job training, paid time for classroom and clinical orientation, and individualized clinical orientation with a preceptor based on experience.
Responsibilities
Utilize customer service skills when greeting patients/visitors and answering the telephone.
Complete worklist tasks triggered by physician orders or nurse‑generated tasks under the direct supervision of licensed nursing personnel.
Provide direct and indirect patient care activities under the direction of an RN or LPN.
Assist patients with activities of daily living, provide personal care and comfort, and help maintain a safe and clean environment for an assigned group of patients.
Qualifications
Education, Credentials, Licenses
High school diploma or GED required.
Specialized Knowledge
Ability to perform vital signs.
Knowledge of body mechanics.
General computer skills and applications.
Experience
Customer service experience.
