Job Description

Lead Clinician in Crisis Intervention operates as an adjunctive supervisory support for the Crisis Coordinator and Crisis team, providing clinical and operational support in coordination with the Service Line Manager. The Lead Clinician position is a split role providing assistive supervisory support in conjunction with departmental leadership as well as providing direct clinical services to patients within an Affiliated Emergency Service. The Lead Clinician will conduct clinical assessments and care coordination for patients in the emergency department presenting with acute behavioral health needs. Additionally, the position will collaborate with departmental leadership on quality and performance improvement, clinical training/orientation, and program development for the Crisis service.
Principal Accountabilities

1. Provide assistive supervisory support to the Crisis team in coordination with departmental leadership, completing clinical guidance and review, chart audits, real-time clinical mitigation, and guidance.
2. Assist departmental leadership in Crisis operations including, scheduling and coverage, case distribution and departmental reviews and urgent coverage needs.
3. Assist with onboarding, orientating and training of team members.
4. Facilitate team meetings, huddles, and rounding with the ED multi-disciplinary teams.
5. Participate in the development and implementation of performance, quality, and regulatory initiatives in coordination with departmental leadership.
6. Complete individual supervision and case reviews with team members and psychiatric providers.
7. Participate in state, system and departmental regulatory, performance and operational meetings.
8. Complete shared on-call responsibilities with departmental leadership.
9. Complete biopsychosocial assessments for patients with acute behavioral health needs in the emergency department and other Crisis related settings.
10. Assist and complete required documentation and processes related to the management of patients in need of inpatient and involuntary psychiatric treatment.
11. Provides psychoeducation, support and intervention when needed for patients and family members.
12. Complete and monitor prior authorizations for admissions.
13. Conduct patient rounding and reassessment as indicated by departmental guidelines.
14. Participate and lead de-escalation and debriefing when needed with patients and team members.
15. Complete safety planning and risk mitigation with patients and support.
16. Coordinate and collaborate with psychiatric providers regarding clinical findings, disposition and safety planning and diagnoses.
17. Complete all documentation in the timeframe required by departmental guidelines.
18. Complete all requested administrative projects in the timeframe requested.
Required Qualifications

1. Master's degree in social work, counseling or related behavioral health degree
2. LSW or LAC required
3. 2 years Crisis/Screening experience
4. 1-year supervisory related experience
