Sr Registration Associate (Medical Receptionist) - Troy - FT
Location: 720 Hoosick Rd, Troy, NY. Employment type: Full time. Shift: Day Shift.
The Senior Registration Associate is responsible for performing and overall coordination of clerical duties related to the efficient and service-oriented operation of a medical practice. The Senior Registration Associate will perform all job functions in a courteous and professional manner consistent with the mission and core values of St Peter’s Health Partners Medical Associates.

What You Will Do
Coordinate front-end functions to ensure achievement of established revenue cycle metrics, consistent with excellence standards and practice workflows:
Scheduling and registration
Check-in
Check-out
Charge entry/claims
End of day processes
Document processing, scanning, inbox monitoring
Responsibilities
Ensure distribution of work throughout the team is sufficient to meet daily schedules
Display leadership qualities
Manage daily staffing needs in coordination with office and float pool managers
Serve as a mentor and role model to all colleagues
Schedule patient appointments to maximize patient access
Handle all incoming calls and direct appropriately
Register patients, obtain necessary consent forms and patient demographic data
Collect co-pay at check-in or check-out when applicable and generate patient receipts
Act as liaison between patients and clinical staff; monitor for delays and inform patient
Schedule all follow-up appointments at check-out, including ancillary and/or diagnostic tests
Obtain pre-authorizations for diagnostic testing for specialist office visits as assigned
Obtain referrals for specialist office visits
Consistently and accurately pass charges in accordance with office policies and procedures
Process and parse information into the Electronic Medical Record on a daily basis in compliance with expected standards
Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
Work cooperatively with all team members to ensure quality patient care at all times
Communicate respectfully and effectively with providers, clinical staff, colleagues, managers and others
Cross cover other areas as needed
What You Will Need
Strong leadership skills required
Associate’s degree preferred; High School Diploma or equivalent required
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other computer applications
Experience delivering successful customer service
Experience handling multiple priorities in a deadline‑driven environment
Ability to manage difficult customers respectfully and without confrontation
Previous medical office experience preferred
Ability to lift 25 lbs.
Pay Range
$18.50 - $23.90 per hour. Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
