
Mechanic (Night Shift) - Ogden

We are seeking a reliable and skilled night shift Heavy Equipment Mechanic to inspect, maintain, and repair construction and mechanical equipment. This role services a wide range of equipment including trucks, trailers, bulldozers, excavators, motor graders, engines, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and related machinery to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Night shift position with approximate shift hours of 4:00pm to 2:00am.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose mechanical issues and complete long‑lasting, cost‑effective repairs
Disassemble equipment using hand tools and hoists to access and replace faulty components
Perform maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, trucks, shop equipment, and non‑mobile machinery
Conduct routine service such as oil changes, lubrication, filter replacement, fluid checks, and preventive maintenance
Troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, diesel, and gasoline systems, including engines, transmissions, and drivetrains
Order parts and supplies and maintain purchase orders and invoices
Adjust and align mechanical and control components
Install specialized mechanical or structural parts
Test equipment after repair to ensure proper operation
Weld broken or damaged parts and structural components as needed
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
Position may require drug testing, medical exams, and physical ability testing
Qualifications

Education & Experience
High school diploma or GED required
Preferred: Approximately 5 years of mechanical experience, including repair and maintenance of various equipment
Experience with heavy construction equipment such as
Komatsu
and
CAT
dozers, excavators, motor graders, water trucks, light‑duty vehicles, and small engines is highly desirable
