We are seeking a highly skilled Veterinary Surgical Technician to join a privately owned, specialty surgery and advanced imaging hospital designed intentionally for precision, efficiency, and exceptional patient care. This is not a general technician role. This position is dedicated to surgical and anesthetic excellence in a focused, appointment-based specialty environment.
The Role: Surgical Technician
This position is specifically for a Surgical Technician who thrives in the operating room, is confident in advanced anesthesia monitoring, and understands the discipline and flow of a specialty surgical service. You will provide advanced perioperative nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures while working closely with the surgeon to ensure patient safety, sterile integrity, and exceptional outcomes.
Core Clinical Responsibilities
Advanced Anesthesia & Monitoring
Induction, intubation, and maintenance of anesthesia
Ventilator management
Interpretation of ETCO, ECG, invasive and oscillometric blood pressure, SpO, temperature
Recognition and response to anesthetic complications
Smooth and controlled patient recovery
Surgical Support
Assist in advanced soft tissue and orthopedic procedures
Maintain impeccable sterile technique
Anticipate surgeon needs during procedures
Prepare and manage surgical instrumentation and equipment
Maintain controlled substance logs and anesthesia records in compliance with standards
Surgical Environment & Flow
Prepare and turn over operating rooms efficiently
Support CT and radiographic positioning
Maintain sterilization protocols and equipment logs
Ensure surgical suite cleanliness and organization

Qualifications
LVT, CVT, RVT preferred (or highly experienced surgical/anesthesia technician)
Strong proficiency in advanced monitoring equipment
Excellent medication calculation skills
Solid understanding of aseptic technique and OR standards
Ability to lift 40+ pounds and stand for extended periods
Commitment to continuing education and professional growth
Preferred but not required:
Specialty surgery, ICU, ER, or anesthesia background
Interest in VTS (Surgery or Anesthesia) pathway
