Overview
NaphCare is hiring Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and LVNs (PRN) to join our team of medical professionals in Deatsville, AL. As a Correctional Nurse, you will work alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals to provide care to inmates at the Franklee facility. You will perform physical assessments, administer medications, manage chronic illnesses, and respond to emergencies in a controlled environment where security is a top priority.

Responsibilities
As an LPN PRN, you will play a critical role in providing quality healthcare that protects the rights, dignity, and health of our unique patient population. Duties and responsibilities include:
Performing patient assessments and interviewing patients about current health problems and medication history.
Taking vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, and weight.
Providing wound care, including cleaning and bandaging injured areas.
Administering medication, including injections and monitoring reactions.
Maintaining medical records and entering information into the electronic health record system.
Observing patient health and mental health status.
Providing emergency first aid.
Providing patient education and discharge/release planning.
Qualifications
Education / Licenses / Certifications / Requirements
Graduate from a Licensed Practical Nursing program.
High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Actively state certified as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
Obtain BLS CPR Certification (AHA preferred).
Ability to interact effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds, including those with mental health or substance abuse issues.
Maintain confidentiality of proprietary and confidential information, professionalism and adherence to the Code of Conduct and facility policies.
Pass the facility's criminal background check and drug screening.
Physical Capabilities
Stand for long periods, lift and move patients up to 50 pounds, bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks such as CPR while maintaining balance and endurance.
