Position Summary
The Production Clerk is responsible for accurately reviewing, verifying, and entering material usage data within a food manufacturing environment. This role ensures that all raw material consumption is properly recorded in company systems, supports inventory accuracy, and collaborates closely with production, warehouse, quality, and finance teams to resolve discrepancies and maintain traceability.

Key Responsibilities

Review and enter material consumption data into company systems, including Microsoft Business Central and Aptean

Gather and verify information related to material quantities and lot numbers used in production

Accurately document and track lot codes to ensure full product traceability

Ensure quantities recorded are accurate and align with production usage

Confirm that part numbers match product specifications and production requirements

Investigate and resolve material usage discrepancies, including identifying root causes and communicating findings

Work with Finance to review and resolve inventory and usage discrepancies as needed

Support Quality team with investigations, trace exercises, and product traceability as needed

Work closely with production and warehouse teams to collect data and ensure accurate reporting

Maintain organized and accurate records of material usage and related documentation

Prepare and distribute copies of specifications, pick lists, pallet tags, and other documents supporting plant operations

File and archive documents in accordance with company procedures

Assist in inventory control processes and support cycle counts and audits as needed

Participate in cycle counts and year-end inventory activities as required

Provide support to Production and Warehouse Supervisors as needed

Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required

Previous experience in a manufacturing or food production environment preferred

Experience with ERP systems, specifically Microsoft Business Central and/or Aptean, is a plus

Experience with inventory control processes and systems

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry

Ability to analyze data and identify discrepancies

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed

Food manufacturing facility environment

Exposure to varying temperatures, including cold and hot conditions depending on production areas

May require time spent on the production floor and in warehouse areas

Must follow all food safety and safety protocols
