
Instructor, Anatomy & Physiology (9 Month)

Job Responsibilities
Teach Anatomy & Physiology courses to a diverse student body using effective teaching strategies; develop, revise, and maintain course materials; recommend and design new programs; maintain office hours; participate in professional development opportunities; engage in College and community activities to promote the mission of the College; develop and implement retention strategies; assist with graduate placement; attend graduation ceremonies; provide student advising and registration assistance; serve on College committees; promote institutional goals; and assist with departmental administrative responsibilities. Instruction may be delivered on any campus or through distance learning and may occur during days, nights, weekends, or a combination of these times.
TEACHING PERFORMANCE
– The ability to present course materials through appropriate instructional strategies to facilitate the learning process.
INSTRUCTIONAL DEVELOPMENT
– The development, revision, and maintenance of courses and curriculum through course objectives, outlines, and appropriate materials.
INSTRUCTIONAL MANAGEMENT
– The effective use of required office hours, exhibition of effective classroom management and control, and timely and accurate submission of reports.
STUDENT ADVISEMENT
– The participation of the faculty member, when applicable, in assisting students in personal and professional development.
COLLEGE AND/OR COMMUNITY SERVICES
– Participation in College activities and the promotion of the College through public service.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
– Participation in activities designed to develop professional skills so as to maintain and improve proficiency in the faculty member’s present position.
Minimum Requirements
Master's degree with 18 graduate semester hours in Biology, Human Anatomy and Physiology, or a closely related field.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience teaching college-level Human Anatomy and Physiology to adults.
Additional Comments
Should be open to the possibility of using alternate methods of delivery (online, etc.) in presenting course materials. May be required to teach in evenings and/or on weekends; professional conferences may require overnight travel. Employee needs to interact effectively with a wide variety of constituencies.
