Responsibilities

Schedules and coordinates physical inventories and cycle counts. Receptive to being taught leadership skills to eventually guide a group through multi-stepped cycle count.

Prepares physical inventory recaps on a timely basis for email distribution to management.

Reviews and develops inventory control procedures when deemed necessary by Supervisors.

Practice of writing SOP packets as self-learning tool to show mastery of an area.

Oversees pallet breakdown of store returns. Accurately processes store return documents.

Works with Customer Service. Directs union labor on prompt return to stock.

Identifies and resolves internal shrink problems. Gains an understanding of the intricacies of variable costs impact on operations profit margins.

To learn reason codes for changes to the inventory. Includes accepted accounting procedures for damage, spoilage, vendor returns, department changes, pack changes, and store returns.

Reviews warehouse outs and inventory adjustments daily.

Eventual publishing and interpreting of daily code report, mark out report, and inventory variance reports.

Communicates with Buyers of GM/HBC, Perishables, Produce, Seasonal, and Liquor to resolve excess inventory problems and short‑coded product.

Tracks Salvage Program, including damage and donations. Reports weekly figures to managers of departments.

Maintains record retention program in compliance with corporate guidelines and policies.

Files, and responsible for meeting regularly with Accounting department for review of compliance.

Participates in Period parts inventories of facility departments.

Takes direction from Supervisors on various daily tasks as they arise.

Takes direction from Supervisors on department projects and deadlines.

Competitive Wages
The hourly wage range for this role is from $22‑23.50/Hour, but no less than the local minimum wage. Starting rates will vary based on location, experience, qualifications, and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement.

Qualifications

Preferably recently graduated from college with a degree in accounting, finance, marketing, management, behavioral or related field or equivalent experience.

General knowledge of computer applications and computer capabilities. Experience using calculators and other office equipment with the ability to enter data accurately to maintain various databases.

Effective interpersonal skills via verbal, written, and email communication.

Focus on serving the needs of both internal and external customers and stakeholders.

Analytical, mathematical, and ability to perform basic grocery calculations using percentages, addition, subtraction, and division. Seeks out opportunities to partner with other people, teams, and departments to achieve goals. Team participation, and dedication to a goal is a plus.

Must be available to work flexible hours when needed.

Some experience in food industry (supply or retail) is a plus.

Finds fast‑paced warehouse environment suitable.

Attention to detail. Follow through on assignments is a must.

Work independently and make independent judgements.

Analytical skills to compile data, generate and interpret results.

Seeks out opportunities to partner with other people, teams, and departments to achieve goals.

Focuses on serving the needs of both internal and external customers and stakeholders.

Physical Environment

Some work is performed under general office conditions in a temperature‑controlled environment.

Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal.

Working environment temperature will vary from ±10F to 75F, depending on location and/or season.

During part of the workday the incumbent will be moving about the Distribution Center warehouse floor and potential hazards exist regarding machinery such as forklifts, pallet jacks, mechanized systems, movement of tractors and trailers, etc.
