Position Summary
Provides respiratory care services to patients with disorders of the cardiopulmonary system. Under qualified medical direction, performs diagnostic testing, therapeutics, monitoring, and rehabilitation. Participates in development of patient’s appropriate plans of care in conjunction with physicians and other members of the health care team. Partakes in research projects, preceptor for students and new orientees; conducts patient and family education activities.

Experience
1-3 years critical care experience

Education
Graduate of approved Respiratory Program; completed 62 semester hours of college credit; Bachelors Degree desirable.

Licenses & Credentials
New Jersey Respiratory Care Practitioner License; Registered Respiratory Therapist credential by the National Board of Respiratory Care; BLS required; ACLS required; PALS; Perinatal / Pediatric Specialty desirable.

Other Required Skills
Strong computer skills (e.g., Windows, Microsoft Word, Meditech)

Contacts with other departments, furnishing or obtaining information or reports, requiring tact and discretion in order to obtain cooperation.
