Job Description
The role is primarily project management, coordinating the installation of telecom equipment like racks, cabinets, routers, and cards. This person will handle project management tasks, coordinate site surveys, and identify issues with telecom components and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate site surveys, understand job scope (e.g., cooling and power requirements), and identify issues with telecom components and infrastructure.
Interpret detailed engineering specifications and communicate them effectively to engineering, operational, and project stakeholders.
Escalate and drive resolution of engineering, capacity, and scheduling issues, while ensuring accurate project documentation.
Manage multiple capacity‑creation requests, reconfigurations, decommissions, and FOA projects.
Create project supplements and manage financial budgets for build initiatives.
Coordinate and drive engineering issues to resolution, ensuring clear communication with project managers, functional team members, and direct management.
Lead site surveys to gather pre‑engineering data, post‑installation redlines, and end‑of‑job audits.
Negotiate, coordinate, and track project milestones with stakeholders, including third‑party vendors.
Facilitate relationships with multiple service vendors, ensuring pricing compliance, standards creation, quality reviews, and performance reviews.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Project management, installation verification, troubleshooting, PMP certification.
Engineering detail knowledge including project‑specific installation instructions, engineering databases (ICON, CCP) updates, equipment configurations, card/port assignments, power mapping, cable running lists, floor space and rack placement, and detailed Bill of Material (BOM).
Create required shopping carts or Telephone Equipment Orders (TEOs) for equipment and services purchase.
Create project supplements for appropriate financial budget management of build initiatives.
Negotiate and coordinate overall project schedules for engineering activities and construction start and completion dates.
Accurately identify, monitor, report, and resolve technical issues encountered throughout the build process.
Maintain excellent communication with project managers, functional team members, and direct management to ensure early identification of issues and timely reporting of status.
Interface with operations and other implementation organizations for pre‑engineering data gathering and post‑installation audits.
