Position

The Program Manager reports to the Executive Director and is responsible for overseeing the recruitment, Hope from the Heart, and SOAR Mentor Programs. This is a full-time position.
Responsibilities

Recruitment Program

Act as the primary point of contact for families interested in adopting from foster care and provide useful information as they start or continue their adoption journey.
Schedule and facilitate monthly photo shoots throughout the state, including organizing volunteer professional photographers and sites willing to donate space.
The Program Manager is responsible for interviewing all children HGA works with, elevating their voices and experiences to raise awareness and support for their needs.
Upload children’s profiles to the organization’s website and order portraits to be featured in the traveling exhibit.
Communicate with various DHR staff to keep children’s statuses up to date in the database, on the website, and in the in-office materials.
Organize and facilitate quarterly Heart Days, events designed to bring together home-study-approved families and waiting children for fun activities where connections can naturally flow.
Attend adoptions as invited and organize adoption photographers as requested.
Coordinate the delivery of printed portraits after DHR staff informs HGA that adoption recruitment efforts have been concluded.
Represent HGA at relevant conferences, on television, on panel nights for families who are completing TIPS training classes, and other places as requested.
Hope from the Heart Program

Develop and manage programming that supports the emotional and practical needs of youth in foster care around their birthday, holidays, graduations, and other important events.
Coordinate volunteers to fulfill these needs.
Plan and execute volunteer recognition activities.
Send referrals to the contact at Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Attend monthly SOAR Mentor Program meetings.
Maintain detailed database.
Assist in the evaluation of program effectiveness.
Manage interns.
Assist with grant reports.
Attend required meetings and in-service trainings.
Perform other related work as required.
In-state travel required. Some overnight trips. Organization is available for travel.
Maintain a level of confidentiality as pertains to HGA clients and partners.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong organizational skills.
Excellent writing/editing and verbal communication skills.
Ability to learn about the Adoption Community and Process to adopt from foster care.
Ability to communicate with community agencies, photographers, media, and other vendors.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with co-workers, DHR staff, and other employees.
Minimum Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling or a related human services degree from an accredited University.
Appointing Authority Requires

Possession of a valid driver’s license. Child Abuse/Neglect Registry clearance on file updated every two years. Three references.
