Lab Assistant I
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Lab Assistant I to support daily operations in a high-volume, production-based clinical laboratory environment. This role plays a vital part in the clinical lab testing process by ensuring specimens are accurately received, prepared, and processed in accordance with established quality and safety standards.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Receive, accession, and sort clinical laboratory specimens
Prepare specimens for testing and analysis
Scan and perform data entry of specimen and patient information
Ensure laboratory equipment is functioning properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance
Troubleshoot specimen-related issues as they arise
Replenish bench supplies and maintain inventory levels
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Complete required record logs and administrative documentation
Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to meet safety, regulatory, and quality requirements
Qualifications & Requirements
High school diploma or GED required
Previous experience in a medical, laboratory, or production-based environment required
Comfortable handling biological specimens
Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Ability to follow detailed procedures and safety protocols
Work Environment
High-volume clinical laboratory
Team-oriented, production-focused setting
Standing and repetitive tasks required

This is a Contract position based out of Houston, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $18.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
