The Regional Vice President (of Hospital Operations) is responsible for driving operational precision and efficiency across a network of hospitals. This role focuses on optimizing patient flow, reducing length of stay (LOS), and improving care transitions to enhance both patient outcomes and financial sustainability. The vice president will implement standardized best practices, leverage data‑driven insights, and collaborate with hospital key partners to ensure seamless, high‑quality, and cost‑effective hospital operations.

Location
This role covers South Jersey and South Pennsylvania. Candidate must live in this area.

Essential Functions
Operational Precision and Standardization

Develop and executive practice‑wide operational strategies to enhance patient throughput, capacity management, and resource utilization

Standardize operational workflows across all hospitals to drive efficiency, reduce variability, and improve care coordination

Establish real‑time monitoring and predictive analytics to optimize patient flow and discharge planning

Patient Flow Optimization & Length of Stay Reduction

Ensure accountability among inpatient (IP) senior and site leaders for optimizing hospital throughput, reducing emergency department (ED) boarding, and expediting inpatient admissions.

Drive accountability for the implementation of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) methodologies by IP senior and site leaders to effectively reduce length of stay (LOS) while maintaining the highest standards of care.

Hold IP senior and site leaders responsible for enhancing discharge planning processes to facilitate timely transitions and minimize avoidable delays.

Ensure leadership participation in hospital‑wide interdisciplinary rounds and escalation protocols to support efficient, data‑driven decision‑making.

Transitions of Care & Post‑Acute Coordination

Hold senior leaders accountable for driving collaboration between hospital teams and post‑acute care providers to ensure seamless patient transitions and continuity of care.

Ensure senior leaders implement system‑wide strategies to reduce readmissions and enhance care coordination across inpatient, outpatient, and home settings.

Hold senior leaders responsible for leveraging predictive analytics to identify high‑risk patients and proactively manage discharge planning to prevent avoidable delays and readmissions.

Ensure senior leaders hold site leader accountable to actively partner with case management, nursing, and providers to strengthen care transitions

Financial & Resource Optimization

Hold senior leaders accountable for driving operational efficiencies that align with financial goals, ensuring optimal resource allocation and cost control.

Ensure senior leaders implement workforce optimization strategies that balance staffing efficiency with high‑quality patient care.

Regulatory Compliance & Quality Standards

Ensure senior leaders uphold compliance with federal, state, and local healthcare regulations, including but not limited to CMS and Joint Commission standards.

Hold senior leaders accountable for meeting patient flow and discharge‑related quality measures, including readmission reduction initiatives.

Ensure senior leaders champion a culture of continuous quality improvement, focusing on both operational performance and patient experience.

Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement

Drive lasting relationships with hospital partners

Hold senior leaders accountable for providing strong leadership to hospital clinical teams, and operational managers.

Ensure senior leaders’ mentor and develop teams to foster a culture of accountability, efficiency, and patient‑centered care.

Technology & Data‑Driven Decision‑Making

Ensure senior leaders leverage real‑time hospital capacity management tools

Hold senior leaders accountable for utilizing division‑wide data analytics to track KPIs, forecast patient volumes, and drive continuous process improvements.

Ensure senior leaders implement digital solutions that streamline patient tracking, communication, and interdisciplinary coordination.

Required Skills & Abilities

Ability to lead with empathy and inspire a team

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Window‑based applications.

Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.

Demonstrate expertise in leading large teams in a complex matrixed environment

Demonstrate expertise in patient flow management, LOS reduction, discharge planning, and transitions of care

Proven track record of successfully implementing operational best practices across multiple hospital locations

Excellent coaching skills to leverage operational success from leaders

Other duties and special projects as assigned

Required Credentials

Clinical degree

Minimum of five years of leadership experience or equivalent
