At Crescent Hotels & Resorts, we are a team of hospitality professionals dedicated to providing exceptional experiences for our guests. Located in the heart of Downtown San Diego, Hotel Republic is seeking culinary team members to prepare food items in accordance with production requirements and quality standards while maintaining a safe, sanitary work environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards, production and portion standards.

Start food items prepared ahead of time, ensuring no over‑production.

Date all food containers and rotate per Crescent standards, keeping perishables at proper temperatures.

Check pars for shift use, determine preparation, freezer pull, and line set up; note out-of-stock items or potential shortages; assist in keeping buffet stocked.

Return unused food items to designated storage for the next shift.

Assist in setting up plans and actions to correct food cost problems, controlling waste and loss per Crescent standards.

Operate, maintain, and properly clean deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicer, oven steam table, tilt kettle, waffle iron, and flat top grill.

Comply with attendance rules and be available to work regularly.

Perform any other job‑related duties as assigned.

Compensation

$27.58 per hour

Qualifications

You have at least one year of experience as a line cook in a hotel and/or banquet setting. You have or are able to obtain a food handlers certification. You can stand for long periods, have a keen eye for detail, and uphold high quality standards. You are seeking flexibility in a job with a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends.
