Responsibilities

Assist all students to meet or exceed 21st‑century knowledge and skills, including state academic achievement standards.

Articulate what students should know and be able to do, guiding the learning process toward curriculum goals and establishing clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects.

Plan and deliver learning experiences that advance each individual student’s learning, providing written evidence of preparation upon request.

Design authentic learning experiences through collaboration, problem‑based learning, and inquiry.

Partner with business and community organizations to create authentic learning experiences.

Organize and plan learning based on subject knowledge, student needs, the community, and curriculum goals.

Assist in planning intervention and remediation in math, science, and literacy for students who have not mastered content standards.

Develop and implement differentiated instructional strategies for academic growth.

Use technology to develop student content knowledge and skills, encouraging critical thinking, problem‑solving, communication, and collaboration.

Use continuous, authentic, evidence‑based assessments to improve instruction and provide feedback, including progress reports.

Create a classroom environment that incorporates staff partners, fosters engagement, self‑motivation, student self‑direction, and positive social interaction.

Provide learning opportunities that support intellectual, social, emotional, and physical development.

Work closely with students and parents to guide students through school and future education and career choices.

Model teaching expectations students are to accomplish.

Contribute to and participate in ongoing professional development, including collaboration in a Professional Learning Community (PLC) model.

Maintain and improve professional competence and use evidence‑based best practices to inform instruction.

Collaborate to improve instruction and learning, sharing responsibility for outcomes with school and community.

Use varied communication methods and technologies to interact with students, parents, and staff.

Maximize student success by building positive relationships.

Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.

Develop reasonable classroom behavior rules and procedures; maintain order fairly.

Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required.

Collaborate with the building principal to lead the school through shared decision‑making.

Use electronic tools for grading in New Tech and district applications.

Report to and carry out other responsibilities assigned by the principal.

Qualifications – Required

Ohio 7‑12 licensure in English/Language Arts.
