Summary:
The Watertown Public Schools athletic department is seeking a Business and Equipment Manager for the 2026-2027 school year.
Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee, organize, and complete athletics payroll promptly.
Hire staff for athletic events.
Attend athletic competitions and events.
Work closely with stakeholders to ensure the safety of athletic events.
Manages and oversees all athletics equipment.
Determines needs and generates purchase orders to acquire athletic and sports equipment.
Establishes, maintains, and reconciles uniform and equipment inventories and oversees the maintenance of all inventory records for the program.
Ensures that all uniforms, related apparel, and equipment are clean and serviceable.
Oversees and coordinates the work of athletic equipment staff and students engaged in the day‑to‑day performance of related activities.
Performs miscellaneous job‑related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
Moderate Physical Activity.
Strong organizing and coordinating skills.
Ability to lead, train, and functionally supervise staff and student employees.
Knowledge of ordering supplies, equipment, and services, and inventory control.
Knowledge of athletic, mechanical, and electronic equipment, supplies, and uniform repair.
Records maintenance skills.
Have organizing and coordinating skills.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
The work environment involves exposure to hazards or physical risks, requiring basic safety precautions.
Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and loud noises.
Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
