Job Description
Purpose Statement
The job of CLASSROOM TEACHER is performed to support the instructional process by providing supervision, developing lesson plans, delivering instruction, collaborating with staff, and responding to inquiries from students, parents, and guardians.
This job reports to the Principal.
Essential Functions
Collaborate with all stakeholders (students, parents, colleagues, etc.) to establish positive relationships and maintain high expectations for student learning.
Design instruction—including lesson plans and individualized strategies—to engage all students in meeting learning objectives.
Develop and facilitate learning experiences in partnership with students to ensure continuous improvement aligned with state and district standards.
Evaluate student and class performance using assessment data to adjust instruction and improve outcomes.
Implement current best‑practice instruction and resources to enhance student learning in alignment with standards.
Maintain documentation and required reports to comply with site, district, policy, administrative, state, and federal regulations.
Manage classroom structure and procedures to create a safe, positive, and orderly learning environment.
Model positive behaviors and professional ethics to promote appropriate social and interpersonal conduct.
Oversee assistant teachers, student teachers, instructional assistants, volunteers, and student workers to support classroom operations.
Participate in meetings (team, building, professional growth, parent/teacher conferences, etc.) to share and gather information for job duties.
Respond to emergency situations (emergency protocols, suspected abuse, etc.) to address safety concerns and refer to appropriate personnel.
Other Functions
Perform other related duties as assigned to support effective classroom functioning.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in a job-related field.
Certificates & Licensure:
Current Wyoming teacher certification endorsed in the required content area.
Job Requirements
Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
