Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic
recreation aid
to support our recreation team in planning and implementing recreational programs that meet physical, social, emotional, and cognitive needs for our residents.
Union position

Schedule:
Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday / 30 hours weekly
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the development, organization, and execution of diverse recreational programs tailored to residents’ interests and abilities.
Collaborate with staff to ensure activities are inclusive and accessible for all residents.
Assess residents’ needs and preferences to create personalized activity plans.
Maintain participation logs for programs.
Foster relationships with residents and their families to encourage participation and feedback.
Coordinate special events, outings, and community engagement activities.
Ensure compliance with health and safety standards in all recreational activities.
Maintain accurate records of resident participation and program evaluation.
Participate in educational programs and in-services as mandated.
Understand and follows universal precautions and MSDS books.
Qualifications
Previous experience in a recreational or therapeutic setting, preferably in long-term care.
Strong organizational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Passion for working with seniors and enhancing their quality of life.
Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations related to recreational activities.
